On October 29, 2021, law enforcement agencies detained communist deputy Valery Rashkin in the Saratov region. The carcass of a dead moose was found in the trunk of his car, and the parliamentarian himself smelled of alcohol.

The Investigative Committee charged Rashkin under the article “illegal hunting”. A deputy may face a fine of up to 1 million rubles or up to 5 years in prison.
