The so -called “Conan Sala” of the Fifth of Olivos, as could be called the personal space of President Javier Milei that honors his late English mastiff (whom he considers a communication channel with God), became a trend after a note by Juan Luis González in News. The trigger were the unpublished photos that the libertarian businessman Martín Varsavsky shared on October 1 after dinner with Milei. In them there were paintings, gigantographs and decorations that reflect the strong symbolism that the president deposits in that environment.

The images showed a gigantography of the ten commandments with Charlton Heston as Moses, a favorite film by Milei and linked to his belief that his sister Karina is the reincarnation of the prophet; portraits of their mastiffs (Conan’s clones); multiple lions; and covers of international magazines such as Newsweek with photos of their assumption. The news note contextualized that universe within the framework of Milei’s mysticism, from his convictions of divine dialogues through Conan to his messianic vision of Karina.

Varsavsky erased the publications when they went viral, and transcended that he would have done so at the government’s request, possibly by intervention by Karina Milei. However, copies circulated massively, amplifying the controversy. In X criticism abounded: “In Olivos there is a room dedicated to Milei’s dead dog, with paintings and gigantographs. Meanwhile, the country falls apart,” posted the user @Juanperez2025. Others ironized: “The Conan room is a museum to the ego of Milei, with lions and clones of her dog. Is this governing?” Some users described the decoration as “mystical delirium” (@argcritica), highlighting the contrast with the economic crisis.

Defenses also appeared. Nina, Varsavsky’s wife, explained in X: “The paintings are gifts of admirers. Javier is humble, thanks employees and loves his animals. Criticisms are unfair.” The president himself had already mentioned in September that there was gifts such as Messi and Scaloni shirts or NFL helmets, but Varsavsky’s photos, highlighted by the news note, revealed the intimate and mystical dimension of space. Thus, the “Conan Sala” was installed in the public discussion as a symbol of the presidential lifestyle amid hard economic adjustments.
