He Barcelona’s town hall will invest eight million euros to buy the old one Barceloneta Clinic and the three adjacent buildings, which cover about 3,000 square meters distributed over seven floors that will be adapted to house a new neighborhood clinic, with more services.
As reported this Sunday by the City Council in a statement, the new Barceloneta outpatient clinic, which the CatSalut will be installed in these buildings, located in the Pescadors Street, will expand the portfolio of primary care services with the incorporation of nutritionists, dental hygienists, physiotherapists and emotional well-being leaders, among others. Primary care services in Barceloneta are currently offered in a more limited way from a smaller space in the facilities of the Sea Hospital.
The agreement by Barcelona City Council to reserve these eight million to acquire these buildings is the first step so that, once the relevant specific urban planning is approved, they can be transferred to the Catalan Health Service to build the equipment and provide it with a plan. functional for use as CAP Barceloneta. The old Barceloneta Clinic operated between 1988 and its closure, in 2014, as an intermediate care hospital center.
