Mätidippi is a delicacy that you will never get tired of, assure Leena Ahokas and Iman Gharagozlu.

Everyone loves roe dip. Or at least it feels that way, because the Followers of the Iman and Leena safkaa channel have sent messages and pictures of their dips with such enthusiasm.

– The popularity exploded when we posted the mätidipi pictures and instructions. The recipe has been saved almost 1000 times in a couple of days. That’s ten times the amount compared to normal., Leena Ahokas laugh.

The cooking is done by Leena Ahokkan and her husband Iman Gharagozlun common hobby. However, Gharagozlu, who works as a restaurant entrepreneur, also cooks for work.

He thinks he knows what appeals to roe dip.

– It is spectacular and simple. Anyone can do it, even if they don’t have any cooking skills. All it takes is a little slicing and mixing of the ingredients.

Mätidippi has always been a part of Leena’s family Christmas. This dip is a developed version of it. Its specialty is lime juice and zest. They bring good freshness to the dip. Lime juice should be squeezed directly from the fruit, not lime juice from a jar, so that it has enough acid.

The French cream gives the dip softness and sweetness, while the potato chips provide the necessary saltiness.

– Salt brings back the taste of rot. If the dip is not eaten on top of potato chips, you can sprinkle finger salt on top of the dip. The salt should enter the mouth in waves, not evenly.

For this dip, Ahokas recommends rainbow trout roe, as the slightly larger roe pops nicely in the mouth.

Tip! if the potato can’t stay “upright”, cut off a very small slice from the bottom as well, so that the round bottom of the potato doesn’t cause it to turn yellow on its side.
