Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic and New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson were named Western and Eastern Conferences Player of the Month, respectively, for games played in February.
MVP of the last two years, Jokic became the first player in Nuggets history to win the award in consecutive months, averaging 22.6 points, 14.2 rebounds and 10.2 assists in 11 games.
Knicks guard Brunson, whose team had a seven-game winning streak, finished the month with averages of 27.3 points and 6.0 assists.
Rookies of the Month
Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler and Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero were the winners of the Rookie of the Month award for February.
Kessler was the only rookie to average a double-double in February with 10.6 points and 11.4 rebounds.
Banchero, along with Shaquille O’Neal, was the only player in Magic history to win the Rookie of the Month three months in a row, averaging 16.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists.
COACHES OF THE MONTH
Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown and Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer won Coach of the Month awards in February.
With 125.8 points per game, Brown led the Kings to an 8-4 streak in February, behind the wheel of the NBA’s highest scoring offensive.
Budenholzer, on the other hand, closed February with the Bucks with a flawless 10-0 run. Milwaukee also extended its winning streak to 15 games, finishing the month at the top of the East with an NBA-best 44-17.
