The best Drenthe beer is tapped at Beata in Boschzicht

Beata Vosseberg, bartender at the Boschzicht hotel and restaurant in Echten, serves the ‘best beer in Drenthe’. This became known this week during the regional preliminary round of the National Beer Tapping Championships.

In the final at De Turfsteker in Westerbork, Beata collected 161 points. She excelled in her preparation, tapping, presenting and serving the (special) beers. As the Drenthe winner, she will compete in the national final, which will take place in January 2024 at the Horecava trade fair in Amsterdam.

The stage was completed by bartenders Wim Huizenga from the Boshof in Odoorn and Hugo Treur. The latter is already a tapper at De Turfsteker, the final setting of the Drenthe preliminary round.

A total of twenty candidates attempted to serve the best possible beer, so writes Royal Horeca Netherlands (KHN). The assignment for the participants was to tap two whistles and vases of beer. They also had to pour a specialty beer from the bottle and present it to the professional jury.

Vosseberg has been tapping at a high level for a long time, because she was also the winner of the Drenthe beer tapping competition in 2021.
