The most successful band in music history will be honored with a new edition: The Beatles’ work REVOLVER, which appeared in 1966, will be reissued. The record will be released as a box set in the fall. An exact release date is not yet known.
According to Variety, Apple Corps and Universal Music are said to have announced the new work. As with their previous reissues, the record is said to include a Giles Martin remix. In addition, the release is most likely planned for September 2022, according to the magazine.
Giles Martin said in 2021 that he wanted to create something really innovative with REVOLVER “as opposed to a simple remaster”. “There’s no point in doing this just to make money or as a selling point or because we want the others [Platten] have made. It’s more important that we do it for the right reason,” he explained.
A milestone in rock music
REVOLVER was produced by Giles’ father, George Martin, on August 5, 1966. The album is one of the most experimental Beatles works – a milestone in rock music. The record features classics like “Taxman”, “Eleanor Rigby”, “She Said She Said”, “Good Day Sunshine” and “Got to Get You Into My Life”.
