Hannover 96 publishes special jersey with an important message

At the next home game, the Hannover 96 professionals will appear in a special jersey. It sets an important sign.
Hannover 96 has released a special jersey. With this, the second division soccer team wants to set an example against racism and discrimination. The jersey is Bordeauxrot and bears the inscription “Love Hannover, Hate Racism” (dear Hannover, Hasse racism) on the chest.
A saying band on the lower hem wears the same message. Cheering fans are presented on the back. The sports dress was developed together with the working group 96 fans against racism and supplier Macron.
“All people are the same in our stadium,” says the campaign in a message from the association. “We celebrate victories together, annoy ourselves about defeats and support our team – regardless of origin, skin color, age, gender, religion or sexual orientation.”
96 professional Lars Gindorf is enthusiastic about the jersey: “I think it’s great that 96 uses this year’s special jersey to show attitude,” he is quoted by the association.
The football professionals will wear the jersey in the home game against 1. FC Magdeburg (Saturday, March 29). The entire matchday and the week before are the main issue of international weeks against racism. The working group also organizes a panel discussion on March 25 at 7 p.m. under the motto “Racism in football – from the field to fan curve” in the Pavilion Cultural Center.
Fans can also dress with the special jersey “Love Hannover”. It is offered in the 96 online shop and in the fan shop at the Heinz-von-Heiden-Arena for around 85 euros. Flocking is possible for an additional charge. The edition is limited: only 1,896 pieces are on sale. Each jersey is made from 13 recycled 0.5 liter plastic bottles. The sponsors do without the message that their logo is printed on the garment.
The special jersey is well received by fans. On Twitter, a user writes, for example: “Horny color, huge message.”
