Around 9.20 am an ambulance from the Westhoek fire brigade was called up for a medical intervention in Zonnebeke. Just before the bridge over the A19, however, things went wrong on the Zonnebeekseweg. The ambulance slipped into a light turn and tilted and ended up on his side.
At the time of the accident there was no patient on board. The ambulance officers received a medical check-up on the spot, but did not have to be taken to the hospital. Another ambulance took over the intervention in Zonnebeke. The fire brigade arrived on the spot to clean the road surface.
