Three days dedicated to the culture of flight, aeronautical sport, training and the valorisation of the territory. The initiative was created with the aim of bringing together pilots, enthusiasts, institutions, associations and citizens through meetings, conferences, exhibitions and informative moments, enhancing the role of the Aero Club of Italy in the promotion of aeronautical disciplines and in the diffusion of aeronautical culture in Italy. “The idea of this first national air rally is the result of a precise desire: to give back to the Aero Club, with its 115 years of history, the central role it deserves in the world of Italian civil aviation and training”, explains the President of the Aero Club of Italy, Stefano Arcifa. “It is not a nostalgia operation, those who are part of our family need a living organization that functions and is a renewed common home for those who live flying for passion, in all its forms”. “I have had the pleasure of knowing Stefano Arcifa before we both became presidents – declares Coni president Luciano Buonfiglio – and he introduced me to the Aero club of Italy and made me understand its importance for Italian sport. The unity of purpose that distinguishes it is the same that animates our world. As Coni, we can only be satisfied with the teamwork we are putting in place with the Government and Sport and Health. This event is very important, because it represents the whole world of flying, with its disciplines, united by a great passion”. “If I have to give credit to this sporting body – explains the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi – it is that of having managed, after many tormented moments, to efficiently organize the passion that moves this world. This event is a team game between institutions, and it is a game between teams from the same world. It is another form in which Article 33 of the Constitution is presented, with the same dignity. Furthermore, this sporting expression also has an industrial declination and a value for tourism. We will exploit this event also for the promotion of flight schools, an important aspect that we also want to stimulate”.
