Pori Ässät has announced that it has acquired an American for its defense by Ian McCoshen with a one-year contract.

27-year-old McCoshen has played 60 NHL games in his career with 4+3. All of these matches are in a Florida jersey, the most recent of which are from the 2018-19 season.

For the last three seasons, McCoshen has played entirely in the AHL. Last season, Henderson’s team had 2+9 results in 60 matches.

– Ässät clearly expressed his will to raise his level and I want to be a part of it, McCoshen said in the club’s press release.

McCoshen was once a tight end prospect and was drafted by Florida in the second round in 2013. He has also played in two U20 World Cups.

– McCoshen is the missing piece of our defense and now the team is ready to start the League, Ässie’s director of development Tommi Kerttula comment.

– Ian is a big, physical and very mobile defender for his size. He is an excellent fighter, reaching and it is difficult to play against him near the goal and in the corners, Kerttula described.

The Aces have recently beaten other players from North America. Last week, the strength of the club was joined by a Canadian defender Marcus Phillips and an American center forward Dominic Turgeon.
