The 4×400 relay achieves the Spanish record but it is not enough to get on the podium

A new 4×400 national record (3.00.54) It was not enough for the Spanish quartet of the long relay to get on the podium, finishing in fourth position, the sixth time that Spanish athletes have obtained this result at the European Athletics Championships in Munich.

The men’s team made up of Samuel García, Lucas Búa, Oscar Husillos and Manuel Guijarro had qualified with victory in their semifinal, with a time of 3:01.27, third best brand of all times. She looked good for the final. Husillos had run qualifying in 45 seconds, the fastest relay, and Guijarro’s final sprint had been enough to put the Spanish quartet at the top of the time table among the eight finalist countries.

Iñaki Cañal, Lucas Búa, Oscar Husillos and Samuel García they formed the final team in this order.
