Helena Bonham Carter thinks The Crown shouldn’t be continued, especially now that the series is beginning to broach more recent events.

She told the Guardian that she “loved” her episodes and now the series is “very different.” “When ‘The Crown’ began it was historical drama, now it collides with the present,” the 56-year-old explained. She added, “I don’t think they should continue.”

The fifth season of The Crown is currently running. Another is planned before the series ends. Bonham Carter played Princess Margaret, sister of Queen Elizabeth II, for two seasons. She was nominated for two Emmy Awards for the role. Lesley Manville took on the role in the current season of the series.
