That’s why Dina-Ebimbe chose Eintracht Frankfurt

With the loan of Éric Junior Dina-Ebimbe, Eintracht Frankfurt have succeeded in guiding a promising talent away from Paris Saint-Germain. The 21-year-old midfielder has now explained why he chose SGE despite interest from other clubs.

“The first talks with Eintracht took place in January. At that time Markus said (Krösche, editor’s note): ‘If it doesn’t work out now in winter, we will be there in summer and would like to sign you.’ That impressed me very much,” quotes the “kicker” Dina-Ebimbe.

This quickly led to the Frenchman wanting to join the Frankfurters, “even if other clubs knocked,” he revealed.

Dina-Ebimbe is initially on loan from PSG for one season. According to “kicker”, however, Eintracht has a purchase option that should be converted into a purchase obligation if there is a “relatively small number of competitive matches”. The transfer fee is 6.5 million euros.

In Frankfurt, Dina-Ebimbe, who made his debut in the Adler dress in the 4-0 win over RB Leipzig, wants to develop further and become a regular. “I’m a player who works a lot for the team, wins a lot of balls and likes to play forward. I like going towards goal, I prefer direct play and I think that’s perfect for Eintracht,” said the U21 international of France.

Eintracht boss Krösche raves about Dina-Ebimbe

Sports director Markus Krösche also thinks highly of the newcomer. “I think that in the future he will go his way in the centre. He brings the technique, the speed and the robustness to be able to play the deep balls, to create new situations with the ball at his feet and to play a certain defensive role to give stability,” enthused the 41-year-old.

Krösche doesn’t expect that Dina-Ebimbe will need a long time to get used to: “If you train at PSG for such a long period of time and have a few assignments, then you’ve just learned certain things.”

The youngster will therefore adapt quickly to the Bundesliga, “since he has the skills and, in particular, the physical requirements,” said the sports director.
