Comedian Chris Rock seems to have had enough of Oscars after Will Smith’s scandalous slap in the face at the 2022 Oscars: During an appearance in Phoenix, Arizona, he said the Academy had offered him to host again in 2023. The newspaper reported “The Arizona Republic”. But he refused, said Rock.
Rock likened hosting the Oscars again to returning to a crime scene. It would be like asking Nicole Brown Simpson to “go back to the restaurant.” He commemorated the murder of football star OJ Simpson of his ex-wife. Shortly before the act, she had forgotten her glasses in a restaurant.

Rock said he was also offered a commercial during the Super Bowl, but turned it down, too. As “The Arizona Republic” said the Academy did not respond to an email inquiry as to whether Chris Rock had actually been offered an offer.
A fan had previously asked him to talk about the incident. “Talk about it,” someone shouted, as Rock casually remarked that you could become famous for being a crime victim.
