Thanks to Farke, Stindl believes in a “fresh start”

Captain Lars Stindl sees a “kind of fresh start” at Borussia Mönchengladbach thanks to the commitment of new coach Daniel Farke.

“I think the atmosphere in the team and also around the club, among the fans, is very good,” said the 33-year-old in an interview with the “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland”. At the beginning of the season, Farke replaced Adi Hütter, who had left Borussia after just one season.

“The coach is very direct, very professional, very meticulous and it’s amazing how much attention to detail he has,” said Stindl. “He’s absolutely convinced of his path with possession-based, very active football. I think Farke is already an asset to Borussia.”

Gladbach will play their first competitive game of the season this Sunday (3:31 p.m. / Sky) in the first round of the DFB Cup in Freiburg against Oberliga club SV Oberachern.

The disappointing previous season with tenth place was ticked off, said Stindl. “When things aren’t going so well for a team and the situation gets even more difficult from week to week, things are of course addressed very clearly and analyzed together with the coaching staff,” he said. “By the way, it was no different with Adi Hütter.”
