TFF announced! Switching to semi-automatic offside system – Last minute Super League news

Turkish Football Federation announced that the semi-automatic offside system will be used starting from the 20th week of the Super League.

The statement made is as follows:

The Semi-Automatic Offside System, which is used in high-level tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League and Serie A, will also be used in Turkey as of the second half of the Trendyol Super League. Semi-Automatic Offside System will thus be used in Turkey for the first time in European leagues after Italy.

INFRASTRUCTURE INSTALLATIONS WERE COMPLETED IN 20 SUPER LEAGUE STADIUMS

The Semi-Automatic Offside System, whose infrastructure and camera installations have been completed in the stadiums hosting Super League matches, tested and trained with TFF VAR Advisor Pawel Gill and MHK officials and referees, will begin to be used as of the 20th week matches, which is the beginning of the second half of the Super League.

APPLICATION TIME OF 3 MINUTES WILL BE REDUCED TO SECONDS

Images of the football players scanned from 29 different points of their skeletal systems through cameras in the stadiums will be simultaneously delivered to the VAR Center. The image scanned in a very short time will be shown to the match referee via the VAR monitor, allowing the match referee to make a decision in a short time. The decision made thanks to the image scanned by the Semi-Automatic Offside System will be shown to those watching the match through the broadcaster by creating a 3D animation.

TECHNOLOGICAL INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT FROM TÜRK TELEKOM

Semi-Automatic Offside System was installed in the stadiums of Trendyol Super League clubs and TFF VAR Center with Türk Telekom’s strong fiber internet infrastructure and technology support. Türk Telekom, which has been supporting Turkish football for many years, plays an important role in the digital transformation of our country’s football and the introduction of new technologies to Turkish football.
