There is talk of a mega bonus at RTL’s Videoland that is unprecedented: Teun Kuilboer has announced in a video on Instagram that he is quitting Sleepers with immediate effect. “A toxic atmosphere.”
Well, it’s fun again in the media world: Teun Kuilboer announces in a video on Instagram that he is quitting the Videoland series Sleepers. His four-minute account is rather vaguely worded. He speaks of manipulation, gaslighting, hidden agendas and lies that have ‘created an unworkable situation’, but he does not name man and horse.
“What are you saying?”
It’s a strange film, says Luuk Ikink. “We thought for a while whether it was an announcement of the new season to come, some kind of joke or something, but it seems a bit too crazy for that,” he says in RTL Boulevard.
Colleague Aran Bade: “No, Teun wouldn’t do that for his own reputation either. It’s really intense. He says big things. We have just been in contact with Robert de Hoog, but he now refers us to RTL. They are still in discussions.”
Murder pit farmer
At the desk of Show news they don’t understand it either. There we only hear Evert Santegoeds make a terribly bad pun. “He doesn’t turn his heart into a murder pit farmer.”
Colleague Eline de Ruig thinks that Teun first tried to solve it internally. “He says it’s been going on since the beginning, so you’d think there’d been a lot of conversations and he apparently saw no other way out than posting this video.”
Arguing with Robert
Well, that doesn’t help us much. Then on to the juice channels. According to Reality FBI there is an argument between Teun and fellow protagonist Robert de Hoog. Look, that’s something we can do. “Robert would be very jealous of the role that Teun is playing. ‘Willem’ would be more popular than his own character, and that is a problem for Robert on all sides.”
The channel continues: “Robert is said to have conspired with Teun’s ex to throw rubbish into the media about Teun. Also on set, there was often a physical scuffle between the two gentlemen. Robert would do his utmost to thwart Teun, out of pure jealousy.”
Fuses
Is this very sudden? No, says the channel. “Teun would have been thinking about quitting for some time. So it was not the case that he decided to make a video today. Sources close to Slepers say that Teun has already announced earlier that he is completely done with it.”
It would be a surprise for Robert. “According to sources, Robert walked out of a casino tonight with steam coming out of his ears. Sources saw him take a gamble in Amsterdam Sloterdijk and suspect that Teun’s announcement really spoiled his evening. The expectation is that we will hear more tomorrow (i.e. today, ed.).”
