THEucca, 3 Nov. (askanews) – “I have no doubt: definitely Ken Shiro”. “All my boyhood dreams are in Ken Shiro, also from this point of view, he is the character I love to draw the most, but also my favorite in general,” said the mangaka for the first time in Italy, guest at Lucca Comics&Games thanks to the collaboration with Panini Comics – which for the occasion presented two special editions of “Ken the Warrior” – Coamix Inc. and Animeimport.

“The reason why I love drawing it is not just the design, but for the people who allowed Ken Shiro to be born: it is the fusion of two actors that I love, Bruce Lee and Yusaku Matsuda, stars of Japanese detective films in the 70s and 80s: with Ken Shiro what I wanted to do was make them revive and get back into action.”

Tetsuo Hara was awarded the Yellow Kid Maestro del Fumetto award by Lucca Comics & Games where an exhibition was dedicated to him with over 100 tables of his works. Not only that: he will also be the first mangaka to be exhibited at the Uffizi in Florence where one of his self-portraits can be admired.
