Tetrick Wania was sold for € 3 million: financial statements reveal

The financial statement data obtained by Iltalehti confirm that the purchase price of the top rider Tetrick Wania was unprecedented in Finland.

Born in 2019, Tetrick Wania is Finland’s most talked about trotting horse of the last year. Riina Rekilän The cavalryman bred is the most blue – blooded of its kind, and last autumn it began to gain a European reputation for its sporting performances.

Tetrick Wania began his winning streak in September in Vermo, and after winning four races with top performances, there was confirmation of the news that he had expected in the racing circles. Riina Rekilä sold Tetrick Wania, the buyer is a German big horse owner Karin Walter-Mommert.

The purchase price was reported to be in the millions, but the parties have not commented on the details of the deal in public. Rekilä told Iltalehti that he did not want to comment on the matter.

However, the purchase price can be deduced quite clearly from the financial statements submitted by Rekilä to Wania Racing Oy at the end of April. Based on them, the price of Tetrick Wania seems to have been three million euros.

That amount has been the subject of international speculation, but it has not been confirmed in the past.

Turnover exploded

The turnover of Riina Rekilän Wania Racing Oy, which operates as a veterinarian, nutritional trainer and horse breeder, has been steadily revolving in recent years at EUR 300,000 on both sides. In 2019, the turnover was EUR 341,000, in 2020 the turnover was 322,000 – and in 2021 the turnover jumped to as much as EUR 3,334,000.

There may be other factors behind the increase in net sales, but the horse trade of EUR 3 million is referred to in the financial statements under “external services”.

In 2020, external services were EUR 0, compared to EUR 150,000 last year. The established commission in the horse trade is five per cent, which is EUR 150,000 out of three million.

Taxes half a million

The huge share of Wania Racing Oy’s net sales also indicates the huge share of net sales. Of the turnover of EUR 3.3 million, its operating profit was EUR 2.38 million.

Income taxes to be paid by the company amounted to EUR 479,000, and the result after taxes is less than EUR 1.9 million. In previous years, Wania Racing Oy has made a virtually zero profit.

Wania Racing Oy pays a dividend of 150,000 euros.
