After a weak first half of the season in the 2nd Bundesliga, Eintracht Braunschweig wants to arm themselves for the second half of the season with two test games. These are the opponents.

17 games, 13 points and 17th place in the 2nd Bundesliga – that’s Eintracht Braunschweig’s sobering record after the first half of the current season. A lot of things should get better in the new year.

Coach Daniel Scherning recently received a vote of confidence from the club bosses. He is supposed to lead the BTSV out of the crisis and will continue to sit on the Braunschweig coaching bench after the turn of the year. Logically, this also applies to the first two test matches in 2025, which Eintracht fixed early on.

As in the last international break, the Lower Saxony team will first face Bundesliga team FC St. Pauli during the winter break. On January 5th, the Kiezkickers will be guests at the Eintracht Stadium on Hamburger Straße from 4:30 p.m. The last meeting in November ended 1-1.

Six days after the duel with the higher club Hamburg another test is on the agenda. On January 18th, we will also play in our own stadium from 1.30 p.m. against the second-placed team in the 3rd league, Energie Cottbus.

Eintracht announced that both games would take place behind closed doors for organizational reasons. Fans can at least follow the game against St. Pauli. This will be livestreamed on the BTSV YouTube channel. It is still being checked whether a live stream can also be made available for the duel with Cottbus.

A week after the Cottbus game, things get serious again for Eintracht. BTSV starts the second half of the season with a home game against FC Schalke 04 (January 18th, 1 p.m.).
