Confusion shortly before the start of the season: Eintracht Braunschweig has to rethink. A test game opponent jumps off. The season opening event should still take place.

Eintracht Braunschweig confirmed the cancellation of the test game provided for Saturday against the Dutch first division club Twente Enschede. “This game will not take place,” says a message from the association.

The duel with the Dutch had stood on shaky legs since the last week. The BTSV therefore exposed ticket sales last Thursday.

The Dutch daily “AD” reported that Twente would prefer to compete against the top club FC Porto, instead of the planned duel with Eintracht. It could therefore have been a reason for the change of heart that no guest fans would have been approved at the test game in Braunschweig.

Eintracht had planned two test games against Twente at the opening of the season on July 26th. The first game should start at 11 a.m. and take place to the exclusion of the public. At 2 p.m., the official opening of the season with the second duel against Twente should follow in the Eintracht Stadium.

The season opening including a fan and family festival on the stadium forecourt should take place as planned despite the cancellation. You also try to find an alternative test game opponent at short notice: “We would like to thank all Eintracht fans for your understanding and patience!” Said the club.

A duel next weekend would be a last yardstick before the start of the new season. On Sunday, August 3, the second division season begins for Eintracht with the away game at 1st FC Magdeburg (1.30 p.m.).
