The government of Brandenburg, where the American maker of electric cars’ ‘giga factory’ is located, confirmed that Tesla has plans to buy additional land.
According to RBB broadcaster, the company plans to buy approximately 100 hectares east of the factory to use for a freight train station and additional storage space. Tesla currently occupies about 300 hectares.
The factory officially opened on March 22. The start-up was delayed by eight months due to problems with the permit. It was the largest investment – 5 billion euros – in a German car factory in recent history.
