Terrible news for Sébastien Haller: tumor turns out to be malignant

For now, Sébastien Haller will not play for Borussia Dortmund. The German club announced on Saturday afternoon that the former Ajax striker has a malignant tumor in his testicle. The 28-year-old Ivorian will have to undergo chemotherapy.

“Sébastien is receiving the best possible treatment and he has a very good chance of recovery,” said sporting director Sebastian Kehl. “We wish him and his family a lot of strength and optimism. We are thinking of him at this difficult time.”

No more medical information will be shared about Haller in the coming months. Earlier this week, he had to undergo surgery after the tumor was found in his testicle.
