Terrazza Sentimenton Netflix starting today after a quiet launch that surprised everyone, it is the docuseries that tries to enter in three episodes in the psyche of Alberto Genovese, former start-up king convicted of rape. And consequently to make an account of the Milan by night without brakes and in a perpetual state of alteration in which he was the protagonist. Designed by Alessandro Garramone, Davide Bandiera and Annalisa Reggi, Terrace Sentimento – title taken from the pseudonym with which the Genovese attic was renamed – it not only reconstructs the rise and fall of the entrepreneur, it also denounces a toxic and patriarchal system which, even today, blames the freedom (especially sexual) of women.
Terrace Sentimento the streaming docuseries on Netflix, how many episodes. Who is Alberto Genovese
Alberto Genovese, rather famous Milanese entrepreneur, was arrested in October 2020 for abusing an 18-year-old girl for almost an entire day. The young woman had participated in the evening before one of the parties (or drug and sex parties) that Genovese used to organize in his super penthouse with a view of the Cathedral. In defiance of the lockdown prohibitions.
The party venue, renamed Terrace Sentimentoas well as the resulting chaos of music and noise, had sparked complaints in the previous months – disregarded – of the neighbors. Done that it had certainly not dissuaded many “revelers” from trying to participate in droves at these parties. In fact, without any more clubs to go to for a night out, the alternative offered by Genovese was more than attractive, also because the entrepreneur’s recipe was irresistible: drugs galore kindly offered by the very rich founder of the Facile.it site and many young girls.
On October 10th, during yet another night of partying and loud music, the police were called Roberto Bolle, who lives under the penthouse disco. The police order them to turn down the music without knowing that, in the meantime, Genovese is locked in the room with the victim. Only in the late afternoon of the next day, the girl manages to escape from the apartment. Naked and bloody she is helped by passers-by. The report is clear: she was drugged, tied up and raped for over 17 hours.

The review. The use of artificial intelligence to reconstruct scenes
Using court documents, police and reporter testimony, along with interviews to those who, at the time, took part in the Genoese parties, the docuseries begins as an adrenaline-filled journey through nighttime Milan of sex and various entertainment. It is precisely some of the gods who tell it protagonists – like the photographer Arianna Airoldi – who attended the entrepreneur’s evenings without knowing what really happened when Genovese locked himself in the room with the very young girl on duty.
Thus a Milan emerges that becomes the scene of unbridled fun: cocaine, ketamine, MD they are the main ingredients that, like petrol, fuel a unbridled search for a high and pleasure. The authors, including the director Nicola Prosatore – unable to disseminate the videos of what happened in Genovese’s attic – part of the documents cannot be disclosed by order of the judicial authority – they made an experimental choice: rebuild-create the true set Sentiment Terraceor through the infamous artificial intelligence.
The psychology of Alberto Genovese and the media circus
Over the course of 3 episodes, Terrace Sentimento reconstructs the tragic story of the abused girl and draws the portrait, without the slightest indulgence, of Alberto Genovese. Genius of Neapolitan computer science, after studying in the United States, he returned to Italy and he founded a series of start-ups that made him a millionaire. What the Genoese says is “pre-moral degradation”. a schoolmate who resembles a nerdy, snobbish kid and absolutely regardless of the social marginalization experienced during adolescence.
Focus of the docuseries (beyond the fall of Genovese), it is above all the denunciation of the morbid media circus that arose around the story. Highlighting the deleterious role of television, with excerpts from Door to door And 2pm. Transmissions where, as the psychotherapist Stefania Airoldi underlines, the age-old patriarchal guilt emerges about the girls who, deep down, would be looking for it.

Alberto Genovese today: the sentence and the last images of Terrace Sentimento
After the arrest, Genovese remained in an altered state for several weeks due to excessive cocaine use. In the audio of the interrogations babbles incoherent and senseless sentences. In the meantime, other girls go to the Carabinieri to report the violence undergo. And not only in Milan, also in Ibiza, guests at “Villa Lolita”, an extra luxury home which Alberto rented in the summer.

In 2021 Genovese leaves prison to enter a recovery community for drug addicts. Two years later he is back behind bars following the sentence that sentences him to a total of 6 years for rape and sale of drugs. In the meantime he gets married to his ex-girlfriendleft in 2015 after, by his own admission, he began compulsive drug use.
In the series he is seen appearing briefly in the last minutes. This is a video of the police where he comes one of the videos showing the violence was shown of October 10th. Completely different from the photos that documented his wild nights, he told the magistrates: «I watched the video with relief because I’m really happy to no longer be in that state». A “redemption” though it does not mitigate the crimes of a man for whom woman was merely an object with which to vent his most violent instincts.
