Tentacle and turquoise theme color belong to Finnish weddings

Since 2004, we have been following a cross-section of Finnish wedding culture, writes journalist Henna Koste.

Pinja and Andrij get each other in the new season of the Dream Wedding. Janne Viitamäki

The new season of dream weddings has begun. Helsinki residents Pinjan and Andrijin the wedding saw fire and murder, nerve-wracking festive preparations, and last-minute panic. Just like the format of the program.

For me, Fairytale Weddings and Dream Weddings are the same program. Actually, I bundle all the wedding programs into one package. All Finnish wedding programs promise a certain drama arc and real personality.

I don’t know how the castings have succeeded. I’ve never been (thankfully) at a wedding where a guest has pulled in the middle of it all on the cheek of another guest or the groom has brutally stopped in the middle of the wedding waltz after the first steps.

Since 2004, we have been following such a cross-section of Finnish wedding culture that it makes me almost question the dramatic wedding celebrations. The latest trends are seldom seen on TV wedding programs and are not expected. Who wants to watch generic parties when something much more interesting is on offer?

Clubhouse. Hidden bottles. Mosquito. Tights from the bride robbing bestman. Long drink. Hedgehogs driven into a hedgehog. Themed turquoise, pink or purple.

Finnish wedding parties have been made of these. Among other things, I have remembered Hannen and Iston fairytale wedding. During the groom’s robbery, the bride ended up presenting Haloo Helsinki to the guests It is windy on the moon song. Hanne persistently performed the song to the end, even though he had never heard it before.

In our wedding program Susannan and Peten arrived at the karaoke ring as a surprise guest Tauski to interpret their biggest hit Just you. Sometimes I want to go crazy about something as much as Susanna’s idol list.

Mintun and Jannen that is, at the art wedding of “Pony and Donkey,” the guests arrived as creatures of a fairytale forest. The guests of honor were the couple’s plush toys. By the way, the couple has ended up.

Susannan and Timon At the dream wedding, the groom left his fresh wife on the dance floor in the middle of the wedding waltz and stated that the dance “will not become a horse”. The guests, embarrassed by the eyes, looked at the empty dance floor and the violinist continued to accompany.

Henna and Tendon took tattoos to commemorate their TV wedding, with the text Fairytale Wedding on their wedding day.

Jatta and Kalle again, they came up with a way to catch up on the cost of a fairytale wedding by recording a CD that was sold to guests at the wedding. At least the record is recorded on the disc If you want so -paragraph.

This is also a Finnish wedding. I don’t know where such great and brave couples have been found from decade to decade, but thank you for that.

And then the other half of why the program hooks and touches. Tears of movement. Beautiful words. Overcoming difficulties. Long and relevant gazes. Contact. Ola Tuominen a gentle statement “finally all is well”.
