Paris (AP) – Top favorite Iga Swiatek has reached the round of 16 at the French Open. The 20-year-old Pole won against Danka Kovinic from Montenegro 6:3, 7:5 in Paris and thus celebrated her 31st win in a row.
Swiatek last lost a game in February at the tournament in Dubai against Jelena Ostapenko.
Co-favourite Paula Badosa, on the other hand, was stopped by an injury. The third seeded Spaniard had to give up in her third round match against the Russian Veronika Kudermetowa with a score of 3:6, 1:2. This means that there is only one top ten player in Swiatek in the round of 16.
