Becker was declared bankrupt on June 21, 2017 over an unpaid loan of more than 3 million pounds on his estate in Mallorca, Spain. The former tennis player is suspected of having withheld millions in income in his bankruptcy in 2017. He also allegedly failed to list multiple trophies won as part of his assets.
In October 2020, the six-time Grand Slam winner dismissed all charges in London court. An investigation into the allegations was underway during that period, after which the substantive process was started in September 2021.
