Tournament as a dress rehearsal for the French Open
On Monday, Kerber prevailed against Diane Parry from France 6: 3, 6: 4 and thus ended their series of defeats. The German number one had previously lost five games in a row. Kerber also accepted a wildcard for the tournament in Strasbourg in order to gain match practice before the French Open.
The second Grand Slam tournament of the season begins on Sunday in Paris. In Strasbourg, the three-time Grand Slam winner now meets Aljaksandra Sasnowitsch from Belarus.
