Tennis and Friends Turin 2025: Sport, Prevention and Star in Piazza Castello

Piazza Castello has turned into a sport and health arena: the return of Tennis and Friends – Health and Sport, the Turin stage of the tour that celebrates the fifteen years, immediately recorded record numbers. The first day, reserved for students, saw the participation of over two thousand boys, while over the weekend thousands of citizens have crowded the villages of health, sport and interforce. The historical godmother Veronica Maya was cutting the ribbon, flanked by Cristina Chiabotto, Giorgio Chiellini and numerous civil, military and health institutions, together with the founder Giorgio Meneschincheri. On stage, the energy of characters such as Lorenzo Sonego, Sebastiano Somma, Neri Marcorè, Roberto Ciufoli and Max Giusti has turned on the enthusiasm of the public. The arrival of Andrea Vavassori, fresh champion of the US Open, is expected tomorrow, together with Al Bano.

But it was not only a walkway: over 70 stations and 9 health facilities have guaranteed free screening in 35 specialties, from cardiology to oncology, from gynecology to nutrition. The mobile units of Aiom, the Aiom Foundation, Sirm and Siu, with visits and information material on the correct lifestyles are also on the pitch. Space also to the game: tennis courts set up with Fitp, sports simulations organized by Armed Forces, Guardia di Finanza and State Police, and the acrobatics of the Bike Trial champion Vittorio Brumotti.

New this year the “Tennis and Friends in Corsia” project, which led to sports and smiles to the young patients of the Martini hospital, replicating the experience already experienced at the Gemelli in Rome. An event that confirmed its social value, remembering – as Meschincheri pointed out – how much prevention remains a decisive weapon in the fight against serious pathologies, while the sedentary lifestyle is growing. After Turin, the tour will move to the Foro Italico in Rome from 10 to 12 October, for the main edition with screening, scientific meetings and tournaments between celebrities.
