NAC Breda has lost the Eredivisie match against AZ at the last minute on Sunday evening. The Bredaners had to play half the game with ten men, through a red card for Sydney van Hooijdonk. Moreover, the home club missed a penalty kick. AZ-Invaller Sven Mijnans made 0-1 just before time.
It was a moderate game in Breda, but enough happened. In the 42nd minute, Van Hooijdonk in an attempt to intercept a high ball full of AZ defender Wouter Goes. It earned him a red card and therefore the club had to do it with a man less the entire second half.
After the break, something similar happened to the disadvantage of NAC. All players hoped for a red card for AZ, but referee Jeroen Manscot held it to yellow for Ibrahim Sadiq this time after viewing the images. NAC did get a penalty kick. He shot substitute Charles-Andreas Brym about the goal.
With substitute Sven Mijnans, AZ then got the chance to score and he did not leave it.
With the loss, NAC remains on three points, from four duels. AZ comes on seven points from three premier league matches.
