Origins Temperley London was founded in 2000 by British fashion designer Alice Temperley, just a year after she graduated from the Royal College of Art. In 2006, Temperley London added a bridal line to their range.
Evolution The brand is aimed at women who value freedom and imagination and strive for a “lifestyle with a transforming power into another world”. The designs focus on modern elegance with a touch of British bohemianism and are achieved through craftsmanship and exceptional fabrics. The label currently operates its own boutiques, including a flagship store in Somerset, as well as stores in Chelsea, Marbella and Dubai. The bridal line is represented in the Somerset store as well as in a showroom in London. The brand is also sold at online and brick-and-mortar retailers such as Le Bon Marche, Nordstrom, Selfridges and Net-A-Porter.
As well as frequently dressing celebrities and public figures for special occasions, Temperley London is also very active in bridal fashion – the label offering personal tailoring and customization services, for example. The label presents its designs in semi-annual ready-to-wear collections alongside resort and bridal collections. Alice Temperley is also involved in charitable causes, for example as an ambassador for Women for Women International.
