As expected, the home team started strongly in the first half, but Telstar survived the storm. NAC had the most ball possession in the first half, but they did not get any real big chances. Juho Talvitie was close to scoring for NAC, but Telstar keeper Koeman Jr. managed to save the ball with one hand.
Telstar did not really become dangerous in the first half. Telstar striker Milan Zonneveld shot from far away after about 35 minutes, but NAC keeper Daniel Bielica managed to block that shot away. Both teams entered the locker room wearing glasses.
