Telstar player Blackson included in Suriname selection for the first time: “A dream come true”

Telstar defender Delvechio Blackson is part of the Surinamese selection for the first time. “It is a dream come true for me. It is also exciting, because I can make my debut for my country,” Blackson responds.

Last Friday Blackson heard that he was in the final selection. He was then on his way with Telstar to Kerkrade for the match against Roda JC (2-1 win). “I was on the bus. I received an app from the Surinamese team manager. I immediately told my fellow players and everyone congratulated me,” says Blackson.

The selection also includes a number of well-known North Holland names. This includes Joey Roggeveen (Jong Ajax), Ridgeciano bite (old AZ) and Roscello Vlijter (old Telstar) in the selection.

In the CONCACAF Nations League, Suriname will play at home against World Cup participant Mexico on March 24.

Telstar

Due to the upcoming international match with Suriname, Blackson will miss Telstar’s game against TOP Oss on March 26. The born Zaankanter is working on his second season at Telstar.

In the team of trainer Mike Snoei he regularly gets a basic place this season. The team from Velsen-Zuid is eleventh in the first division and will visit Helmond Sport on Friday. That game can be heard live at NH Sport.
