Telstar has declared the 55-point limit sacred: “We are on the right track”

Telstar will play against ADO Den Haag tonight. Two teams that score little this year, but Telstar coach Mike Snoei is wary. “Wait and see who they come with, but when I see who they have on board; Thomas Verheydt, Joey Sleegers, Ricardo Kishna and Joël Zwarts. Those are guys who have scored many goals before. So you have to keep an eye on ADO,” said Prune.

“I think they have a great team. They have crept up under Dick Advocaat. Playing against ADO in The Hague remains incredibly difficult”, Snoei looks ahead. Earlier this season, the White Lions got stuck on a goalless draw.

Telstar is in a neat ninth place in the first division. The North Hollanders are still in the race for the play-offs and think they know how many points are needed for that. “We only have one goal and that is to reach the play-offs with this group. We need about 55 points for that. So we still have to work,” said Snoei. Telstar now has 43 points from 30 matches.

Whether Plet will start is not yet known. The 36-year-old footballer is not always a basic player this season. “I sometimes consult with the trainer. It depends on the match and sometimes it has to do with fitness. I must also say that the other strikers sometimes do well,” said Plet.

The Velsenaren are missing Koen Blommestijn, Cain Seedorf and DJ Buffonge. Christos Giousis is still suspended.

The match between ADO Den Haag and Telstar can be heard live on Friday evening at NH Sport. The radio broadcast starts at 7 pm and lasts until 10 pm. The reporters are Stephan Brandhorst and Frank van der Meijden. The presenter is Robbert van den Heuvel.
