Telstar was unable to follow up the victory against Jong Ajax. The score was 2-0 when visiting FC Emmen. The goals from Piotr Parzyszek and Desley Ubbink already came in the first half.
Before Telstar even started the match, the ball was already in the net. At Emmen’s first corner, Piotr Parzyszek headed the ball behind goalkeeper Joey Houweling: 1-0. That quick goal was typical of the White Lions’ mediocre opening phase. The Emmen team’s lead was doubled within half an hour.
Desley Ubbink hit the second opportunity. Moments earlier, the visitors were dangerous for the first time, but the ball went through the legs of Danzell Gravenberch. As a result, he cannot strike out. Houweling kept his team going in the remainder of the first half after he saved a shot from Joey Konings.

After the break, Telstar came out of its shell a little more and it became dangerous several times through Gravenberch. The bulky attacker threw his ass into the fight at the first opportunity, turned away well and shot straight into the post. With the second chance, his effort ended up on goalkeeper Jan Hoekstra.
Despite Gravenberch’s aforementioned chances, Telstar was unable to score a goal. FC Emmen was therefore too strong with 2-0. The White Lions are therefore stuck in last place in the first division. Jong Ajax won 3-0 against VVV-Venlo and is now eighteenth. MVV Maastricht will be Telstar’s opponent next Saturday. Kick-off is at 8 p.m.
