Telstar doubles with Randy Wolters and Stanley Akoy

Telstar has signed two new players. The club from Velsen-Zuid will have Randy Wolters and Stanley Akoy available in the second half of the season. Both players already trained before the winter break and will sign their contracts with the White Lions later this week.

Randy Wolters will sign a six-month contract on Friday. The attacker from Leiden has an extensive resume. Wolters played in the Netherlands for clubs such as FC Utrecht, ADO Den Haag, Go Ahead Eagles and NEC. Abroad he represented Scotland’s Dundee United and Xanthi from Greece.

Wolters has been clubless since the summer and he trained with Telstar in the last weeks before the winter break. “That went well for both sides,” says trainer Andries Jonker about his new addition. “He is an experienced player who is well placed in the group and at the moment we are working hard to get him to play.” It is still uncertain whether the 31-year-old attacker can participate in the Vissersderby against FC Volendam on Sunday.

Stanley Akoy

Jonker can call on Stanley Akoy on Sunday. The midfielder from Purmerend played for SC Cambuur before the summer and trainer Henk de Jong tipped Jonker about him. “He has not played any matches for a long time, so we have to wait and see how he stands,” said Jonker about the 25-year-old reinforcement. “He made the step to professional football late and therefore has little experience, but he is a player with potential.” Okay plays for Telstar on an amateur basis.

On Sunday at 12.15 pm Telstar will resume the competition in and against Volendam. NH Sport will of course be present.
