Telstar acquisition Giousis looks eager: “Want to score twenty goals”

Christos Giousis has barely been in the Netherlands for a week, but is already in the Telstar competition selection tonight. The Greek striker is looking forward to his new challenge and says he wants to score at least twenty goals this season.

The 23-year-old wing attacker of the White Lions is happy to be in Velsen-Zuid. “I wanted to take on a new challenge and take the next step in my career. Telstar offers a nice stage to take that step,” said Giousis.

Giousis lets it slip that he will be in the starting line-up of trainer Mike Snoei against De Graafschap tonight. “I will start. I am really looking forward to making my debut tonight. I want to play well and hopefully we will win immediately.”

The technical winger has shown in the past that he can easily score goals. He scored 17 goals for the second team of AEK Athens last season. He also wants to make an immediate impression at his new club. “I want to make my contribution to the team and score 20 goals this season,” said a confident Giousis.

The duel between Telstar and De Graafschap starts tonight at 8 p.m. The match can be followed live via an extra broadcast of NH Sport on NH Radio.
