Daria Kasatkina qualified for the semifinals of the WTA 1,000 Rome after a match that ended earlier than expected, due to the abandonment of the Swiss Jil Belen Teichmann due to discomfort in her left leg, with a favorable result of 6-4 and 3-2 for the Russian.

Kasatkina complete the women’s draw in the semifinals. She did it fast, in less than an hour and twenty minutes due to an injury to the Swiss’s left thigh, one of the surprises of this edition.

The first set was a continuous loss of services between both players from which the Russian emerged victorious, who gave up three, one less than one Techmann who already accused physical problems.

In the second set, the match stopped almost ten minutes for the Swiss to receive medical attention. He tried to come back, but when he lost his serve and the Russian went up 3-2, he decided to end the match.

Kasatkina will be measured in the semifinals against the Tunisian Ons Jabeurchampion of the Madrid open, who signed a more than meritorious comeback against the Greek sakkari.
