In recent weeks, several young people between 12 and 14 years old have been victims of extortion in the center of Waregem. They were threatened and forced to hand over money. In some cases the suspect also showed a knife.
“It concerns a fifteen-year-old boy from Waregem. At the request of the public prosecutor’s office, he was brought before the juvenile judge,” said Mira police zone. The juvenile judge has decided to place the teenager in a closed juvenile institution.
