The teenager who killed 5-year-old Rose in the French Vosges mountains last April has admitted to drowning the girl in his bathtub. He stated this during a reconstruction of the facts.

Rose, 5, was found dead in a garbage bag in the apartment of the 15-year-old suspect in the municipality of Rambervillers on Tuesday, April 25, less than 200 meters from the house where the child lived with her parents.
The area was cordoned off this morning for a reconstruction of the facts. It had to become clear how exactly the teenager killed Rose. The autopsy showed earlier that he did not rape Rose.
During reconstruction, the teen stated that he lured Rose to his apartment the day of the murder to “see his cats.” When the two arrived at the apartment, the suspect said he wanted to “scare” the child. He ran the bath and drowned her in his bathtub. The heinous act only lasted a few minutes.
The 15-year-old boy was already known to the police before Rose’s murder. For example, he is said to have been guilty of “inappropriate behavior of a pedophile nature” towards children in the past. He was charged with sexual assault, rape and forced detention of a minor at the time, the prosecutor’s office reported. He was placed in February 2022, but released a year later. The teen would also have psychological problems.
