Teemu Ruokoski, a musician who died young, made one wish just before the tragedy – Now the wish came true

On Friday, the Remix group released the song that was Teemu Ruokoski’s last composition and lyrics.

A musician known as the bassist of the band Remix from Pori Teemu Ruokoski died in November suddenly in the middle of a tour. Ruokoski was only 45 years old when he died.

In the middle of the last tour, Ruokoski had played a demo of a song he had composed and written himself for his bandmates. The band’s keyboard player Jyri Jokinen told Iltalehte about the incident in January.

– Teemu asked if we could start working on that song next. We listened to it on the way and concluded that it is a really great song. Now we are working on it, Kallio revealed in January.

Now the song created by Ruokoski has seen the light of day, five months after his tragic death. Remix released the song Me olimmi tuuli on Friday, and the song can be heard on Spotify and YouTube, for example. Be the first to report on it The people of Satakunta.

Remix announced the song on their Facebook pages last weekend as follows.

– This song is Teemu’s last remaining composition and lyrics, which he had time to play for us on his last gig last November, just a couple of hours before the illness from which he later died. After the first listening session, the group decided that this is what we are going to do and we will keep our promise! In the song, you can hear his characteristic style with which he made lyrics and melodies, the band says.

The new song can be heard in the video below.

In January, keyboard player Jyri Jokinen reflected in an interview with Iltalehti that Ruokoski’s decision to play a demo for his bandmates right before his death feels like it was written in the stars.

– As if he (Teemu) knew that something was happening. Somehow he got it all done. It felt like he was somehow at a good point in his life and nothing was left hanging in any direction. Everything was sorted out, Kallio said.

Kallio and Ruokoski were very close in the band Remix, as they were roommates on tour. In January, Kallio described his late bandmate as a very funny “coffee couple”.

– Our humors met and we came up with everything stupid and funny. We were a bit crazy and sometimes laughed at something silly.

– The longing is strong and I often find myself thinking what Teemu might do. However, he suddenly realizes that he doesn’t seem to be doing anything, Kallio said.

The Remix group has continued gigging as usual despite Ruokoski’s passing. A new bassist has been hired Antti Kalliokoski.
