Freiburg is German champion for the first time. It is the greatest success of the Breisgau women since 2013, when they won the cup competition. Coach Harald Janson took this as an opportunity to criticize the financial differences to men’s sport: “A German basketball player usually earns a hundred times that of a German basketball player”, Janson told Deutschlandfunk. Even winning the title would not change that.
