A new era began for the New England Patriots in 2025. And to make the start for Head Coach Mike Vrabel as much as possible, there are several construction sites in the NFL Draft 2025. Sport.de shows you in a special team Mock Draft.
In a mock draft you usually look at the entire first round – or even several rounds. But in this case we only look at a team. Today, the focus is on the New England Patriots, who have to close several gaps in order to finally attack again.
First of all, it should be said that I played this mock draft through “PFF” several times with the help of the “Mock Draft Simulator”. On the one hand to get the most usable and realistic result. On the other hand, to avoid very absurd scenarios.
The latter is likely to be difficult, however, since “PFF” Quarterback Cam was not quite as highly appreciated as the NFL itself, where he will almost certainly land on 1 at the Titans. With this info in mind we go in!
NFL Team Mock Draft: New England Patriots
Round 1 – 4. Pick: Travis Hunter – CB/WR, Penn State
For the Patriots there were two happiness scenarios in my simulations. Either abdul carter slipped through or just Travis Hunter. In this case it is Hunter that the Patriots would of course take a kiss on 4. Although he does not go into the biggest need – Left Tackle – he improves the possibilities in receiving corps and is also a good addition to the Secondary.
If it should actually be available at this point, you just have to pull this unique player!
Round 2 – 38. Pick: Josh Conerly Jr. – OT, Oregon
The Patriots will then start the topic of Left Tackle in round 2. Josh Conerly is not the top solution, but will be upgrading to the previous staff. It moves very well for his stature, ABR has to become even stronger to become a greater factor in Run Game.
Round 3 – 69. Pick: Tre Harris – Wr, Ole Miss
Harris may only be a number 3 receiver in the NFL, but with Hunter and Stefon Diggs on board this shouldn’t be a problem. He is a field stretcher, a deep threat. An element that is still missing from the Patriots Receiving Corps.
Round 3 – 77. Pick: Terrance Ferguson – TE, Oregon
He is certainly not an ideal blocker, but a receiver Tight End that moves well. He won’t play in-line often, but you have others anyway. The idea here is to provide Drake Maye more large play options over the middle.
Round 4 – 106. Pick: Jaydon Blue – RB, Texas
The Patriots are looking for a 3RD-down recording back and Blue is even more than that. He is explosive, it moves smoothly, has good hands and good break-away speed. He is a Home-Run Hitter.
Round 5 – 144. Pick: Luke Kandra – OG, Cincinnati
Kandra is not a safe starter, he gives an offensive line that is in change in change. Ultimately, he still has to work on topics such as the pad level and flexibility, but then he could develop into a starter.
Round 6 – 171. Pick: Tai Felton – Wr, Maryland
At this point it is more about creating more squad depth in the receiving corps. He is tall and has good speed on vertical Routes, and he also knows how to find gaps in the zone coverage.
Round 7 – 220. Pick: Ty Robinson – Dt, Nebraska
Round 7, so it’s all about finding further possible depth options. At Robinson it can be said that he is better in the Rush Pass than against the run, but also acted passable with the Cornhuskers.
Round 7 – 238. Pick: Brady Cook – QB, Missouri
At the moment, the Patriots only have two quarterbacks in the squad, a third young man behind Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs cannot hurt for further development. In the worst case, he becomes a cut victim at the start. But this pick cannot harm.
