The World Transplant Games are the Olympic Games for people with an organ transplant and are organized every two years. Belgium took office this year with the largest delegation ever. No less than 24 Belgian participants started the competition.

“It is a huge success: we have won many more medals than we had hoped”, says Raf Dubois of Team Belgium. “Everyone has delivered top performances. We are super satisfied”, it still sounds. Dubois himself won a bronze medal in the shot put and a silver medal in the triathlon. In addition, there were Belgian successes in, among other things, the time and road trial of cycling and in the 400 and 800 meters athletics.

The World Transplant Games took place between April 15 and 21. The next edition will take place in Dresden, Germany, in 2025.
