The French-Swiss team BDS has won their second Major title in Rainbow Six Siege in Jönköping, Sweden. The all-French team prevailed in the final with a hard-fought 3:2 (7:1, 4:7, 4:7, 7:5, 7:4) against the Brazilian team Liquid.

“We finally made it!” said BDS player Bryan “Elemzja” Tebessi in an interview after the final. After thanking the audience, he paid tribute to his opponents: “GG to Liquid, a great team with great players. That was the best match of my life!”

Tight final at the Six Major in Jönköping

The final went the full five map distance. While BDS decided the first Theme Park card with a clear 7:1, Liquid followed with two card wins. But the French were able to equalize on the fourth map.

On the last map, Skyscraper, BDS initially had an advantage on the defender side and made it 5-1 before the break. Although Liquid took another three points, the lead for BDS was ultimately too high.

Relieved after the win, the players hugged each other, clapped their opponents high and held up the trophy in the form of a white bust while golden confetti fluttered down on them.

BDS made it to the playoffs by a hair’s breadth. Only because of the better lap difference did the French manage to jump out of group C into the quarter-finals. There the team defeated Wolves Esports, which also had a French majority, 2-0. In the semifinals, BDS knocked out Soniqs of North America 2-1.
