Taylor Swift’s RED (TAYLOR’S VERSION) nominated for four Grammys

Taylor Swift has been nominated for four Grammys. Their 2021 album RED (TAYLOR’S VERSION) was considered – their most recent, MIDNIGHTS, was released too late in the year to be eligible for submission.

The ceremony will take place on February 5, 2023 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on CBS and Paramount+ in the US. It is not yet clear whether the awarding of the world’s most important music prize can also be seen in Germany.

These works by Taylor Swift have been selected

Swift has received the following four Grammy nominations:

  • “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version)” – Country Song of the Year
  • “Carolina” (from “Where the Crawdads Sing”) – Best Song for Visual Media
  • “All Too Well: The Short Film” – Best Music Video
  • “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)” – Song of the Year

The musician’s reaction

Swift wrote on Instagram: “There are so many reasons to go crazy today. “All too well [(10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)]’ is the song I’m most proud of. The fact that this is nominated for Song of the Year, an award I have never won, is a great honor to my songwriting. It feels monumental and surreal. I just finished a phone call with @lizrosemusic, the co-writer of All Too Well. We reminisced together about how we started our collaboration when I was just 14. She’s always believed in me and now we’re nominated together. This is so heartwarming. I’d love to continue sinking into this magic, but I think I need to scream for ten minutes first. And then I will remember that none of this would have happened without you guys.”

The Story Behind RED (TAYLOR’S VERSION)

Swift re-recorded RED last year, the original of which came out in 2012. The reason for this was a protracted legal battle between the musician and Scooter Braun, her former label boss. Braun had obtained the rights to the master recordings of Swift’s first six studio productions and then resold them. FEARLESS (TAYLOR’S VERSION) was the first record the artist re-produced in 2021 to regain control of her own music.
