Stop rumors: Swift makes it clear that she & Antonoff have no bad blood – and reveals her concept of the “Rant Bridge”.
Taylor Swift has now commented on the rumors about an alleged dispute with producer Jack Antonoff. The musician had worked with the pop singer on many albums. Their first hit together was “1989,” which they released in 2014. The last work together was Swift’s 2024 work “The Tortured Poets Department”.
After ten years of collaboration, Swift worked on her current record “The Life of a Showgirl” with producers Max Martin and Shellback. This led to speculation that the singer and the Bleachers frontman had a falling out.
Swift clarifies: “One of my best friends”
Now Swift clarified the rumors. In an interview with The New York Times, she explained: “Jack Antonoff is a colleague of mine and one of my best friends,” she said, getting the gossip out of the way.
She also talked about how she used to write her songs together with Antonoff. “We came up with this concept that we love doing, and we call it the ‘Rant Bridge,'” Swift said. “It’s basically like a stream of consciousness, an endless outpouring of emotions and intrusive thoughts, mixed with metaphors, discussions, and shouting. This ‘Rant Bridge’ is meant to convey the most intense feeling you want to build over the course of the song, and it’s meant to form a sort of crescendo.”
No bad blood
So there was no bad blood between the two. Jack Antonoff also commented on this on “The Howard Stern Show” and made it clear that he did not find his lack of involvement in Swift’s new album to be a bother. On the contrary: “I don’t think it’s normal to work with the same people over and over again,” he said. As a songwriter, he also understands that it is natural to collaborate with many different people. “Maybe it’s just because I write my own songs and sing them myself, but I understand the need to collaborate with different people and switch here and there.”
He doesn’t regret his chance to work with Taylor Swift at all. “I’m just grateful for what has happened so far,” he emphasized.
