Traveling incognito: Taylor Swift fan hides under blanket to avoid being recognized by employer.

Some fans would do almost anything to be that little bit closer to their favorite star. Apparently so do the followers of Taylor Swift. In order to be able to secretly take part in the concert and also to get hold of the singer’s latest merchandise items on time, people even called in sick at work. When a camera team from the US news magazine “Local 12” arrived at the scene to document the rush and to speak to the fans, they quickly covered themselves up with a blanket and sunglasses.

The Swifties have been camping in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, since 2:45 a.m. on Thursday (June 29) in front of the merchandise truck. Some traveled all the way from Louisville in Kentucky and thus made the journey of a good 160 kilometers – including one of the said female fans with the extravagant disguise. When the interviewer asked her about her unusual look, she explained that she had to call in sick to her employer in order to be able to be there and that was why she was not allowed to be recognized.

Not only did she desperately want to go to the Swift show, she also desperately wanted the new merch. The person, wrapped in a blanket and sunglasses, said: “I almost gave my daughter a middle name, Taylor. I’m here because I really want the gray zip-up sweatshirt.”
