Agents Mark Ruffalo and Fabien Frankel in a scene from “Task”.
Produced by Brad Inglesby (already author of Murder in Easttownone of the best crime dramas of recent years) for the HBO channel, the series investigates the two key characters of the story like a game of mirrors: it is in their relationship – even at a distance – that the most intimate meaning of the story is contained: the family dramas, the traumas to overcome, the mourning to process, the failure at the gates.
Tasks it is not a religious series in the aesthetic sense, but has at its center a reflection on faith and its tortuous ways: forgiveness, the search for spirituality, redemption as a longing for shattered lives.
